PoE injector 802.3af and Fast Ethernet optical converter 10/100Base-TX/100Base-FX (SC), max 15km, singlemode, 1k MAC address switch, full duplex.
The device is not only a converter between transmission media, but also serves as a PoE injector. The Planet FTP-80x converter series is an ideal choice for equipping remote network installations and applications.
They integrate two functions:
- conversion of transmission media 100Base-FX SM to 10/100Base-TX
- Power over Ethernet injector
The use of FTP-80x converters is directly suitable for the implementation and installation of IP camera systems, including cameras powered using PoE.
The IEEE 802.3af standard included in FTP-80x uses 48V DC voltage in Ethernet cabling, which allows the use of standard Ethernet UTP cabling between FTP-80x and an IEEE 802.3af compatible device (PD - Powered Device) or PoE splitter (e.g. POE-151S-5V / 12V).
The maximum distance for using PoE power over Ethernet cable is up to 100m. To extend the reach of the Ethernet network, FT-80x are equipped with an integrated optical interface. This effectively allows extending the required network connection range; depending on the converter model, it is possible to implement a connection point up to 15km away via optical link with the possibility of using PoE.
The converter technology uses a "store-forward" mechanism that should actively prevent transmission losses using IEEE 802.3x. LFP (Link Fault Pass Through function) can alert the network admin to device failure; the alarm function can be controlled via DIP switch.
