BCC is an expanding independent communication unit designed exclusively for CPM devices, which extends protection capabilities and enables remote management of batteries protected by CPM devices.
Key Features
- Contains a 10 Mb/s LAN interface for remote reading and writing of parameters to CPM and two programmable potential-free switching relays NO/NC max. 30 V/1 A AC/DC.
- Can be configured and controlled using any web browser on tablets, phones or laptops.
Application Possibilities
Especially one-time or regular reading and writing of values to and from CPM via LAN interface and TCP/IP protocol (HTTP + XML):
- Emergency shutdown, power-on and reset of the entire CPM.
- Reading voltage of all cells connected to CPM and total battery voltage.
- Reading output conditions Umax and Umin on CPM (closed/open).
- Display of last event on CPM (voltage Umin, Umax, Uemergency),
- Remote closing/opening of output terminals 1-4 Umax and Umin and emergency mode on CPM,
- Remote change of voltage limits Umax and Umin protects the battery from deep discharge or overcharging,
- 2 additional programmable potential-free switching relays NO/NC, possibility of automatic state change according to battery voltage, according to the highest difference between cells or in case of communication failure. Manual switching via www is possible at any time,
- Wide supply voltage range 9-65 V, also using passive PoE.
Description of Main Board Parts
- RESET - restore default factory settings of the BCC module.
- LAN CONNECTOR - periodic reading and writing of values to and from CPM via LAN interface.
- POWER SUPPLY - 9-65 V power supply via terminal block
- LED INDICATORS - board powers on, establishes communication with CPM, ethernet interface and states of both relays (C1 and C2). Lights turn on when activated, lights are off when in normal state.
- RELAY - Relay 1 and 2 can be set arbitrarily (can respond to Udiff, Ubatt, loss of communication, etc.).
- COM.i2c - logical connection with CPM, communication.
Basic Input and Output Connections
- COM.i2c - Communication bus between BCC module and CPM.
- START CPM - It is possible to diagnose the battery remotely.
- RESET CPM - If necessary, turn on or restart the CPM BMS module, i.e. reconnect the load and/or charger. CPM does not need to be turned off using relays and terminals.
BCC Installation Examples
Remote Restart or Power-on of CPM Board
- Using the BCC unit, it is possible to remotely diagnose the battery and, if necessary, turn on or restart the CPM BMS module, i.e. reconnect the load and/or charger.
Charger and Load
- We connect a power relay/contactor with a coil control voltage of 12 V DC (same as the battery) to the NC terminals of relay 2 and use it to control the battery charger and load (appliance).
Local Recording of Status Light and Voltage on thingspeak.com
- The thingspeak.com portal is suitable for the default supported data structure. In addition, based on specified rules and logic, it can inform the user about battery status via email.
