Compact three-phase energy meter with Wi-Fi and RS485 communication for advanced electrical parameter monitoring.
The Eastron SEM3-WL energy meter represents a new generation of DIN rail-mounted measuring instruments. Thanks to the integrated Wi-Fi module and RS485 interface with Modbus RTU protocol, it enables easy integration into energy management systems. The device measures and displays characteristics of single-phase and three-phase networks including voltage, frequency, current, power, and active and reactive energy.
With active energy measurement accuracy of class B, it is suitable for various applications such as photovoltaic system management, smart buildings, or industrial equipment. The meter can be used as one three-phase meter or three independent single-phase meters with adjustable CT ratios for each phase.

Flexible measurement modes
The SEM3-WL meter offers two measurement modes. In standard mode, imported and exported energy are measured separately. In PV mode, the energy is first balanced, and the resulting value is counted either as imported or exported energy.
Communication capabilities
The device is equipped with two communication interfaces. The RS485 interface with Modbus RTU protocol allows communication up to 1000 m with adjustable baud rates from 2400 to 115200 bps. The Wi-Fi interface with Modbus TCP protocol operates in the 2.4 GHz band with a range of up to 30 m indoors and 50 m outdoors.
Precise measurement
The SEM3-WL provides high measurement accuracy: ±1% for active energy, ±0.5% for voltage, ±0.5% for current in the 4–120 A range, and ±0.2% for frequency. Active power data updates every 50 ms via RS485 and every 100 ms via Wi-Fi.
