Shielded FTP solid-core cable suitable for installations where frequent bending is not expected. This is an outdoor, shielded Cat5E installation cable with a polyethylene (PE) jacket. It is designed for more demanding applications, where a standard PVC-jacketed data cable no longer provides adequate protection against environmental influences.
This cable fully complies with the requirements defined by international standards ANSI/TIA/EIA 568, ISO/IEC 11801, and EN 50173 for Category 5e and Class D performance, including all current amendments.
Compared to UTP, the FTP cable has shielding under the outer jacket (foil around all 4 pairs) and a drain wire. This improves resistance to static electricity and allows for conductive bonding between an outdoor unit and a grounded switch or PC – offering better protection against overvoltage.
For underground installation, we always recommend using an HDPE conduit.
